Important Notice:
Some may not be aware yet but New York State DEC has decided to transition to plain 8.5×11 copy paper for their Hunting/Fishing/DMP licenses and New Yorker’s are no longer required to wear back tags.
With this being said, the Town of Coeymans is prepared and ready to sell licenses using the new paper as of August 1.
This means you will need to cut your tags and place them in a waterproof bag or sandwich bag as the paper isn’t as durable as the Valerion stock we had prior.
The State has an app called HuntFishNY available in the App Store that stores digital copies of your license.
During checkout, you will be given the option to have your license emailed to you so you have it in digital format (and can print it yourself) or to have our office print the license. Please note, the State is in the process of implementing a $1 surcharge on all licenses printed that goes directly to the vendor, as the town has to provide our own printer and toner to print these new licenses, however the State has not yet officially passed this.
If you have a lifetime license, it will be mailed to you as normal. Please bear with us as we work to accommodate this new change in our office.
If you have any questions, please feel free to check the DEC’s Hunting & Fishing website or stop by and pick up this year’s guide which explains in detail these new changes and also has a great FAQ section.
Thank you for your patience! We will see you soon!
