Grievance Day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28th from 4pm-8pm at the Town of Coeymans Town Hall, 18 Russell Avenue Ravena NY 12143. This is a chance to contest your Assessment in front of the Board of Assessment Review (BAR) for the town. By law, this is your right as a property owner to attend this hearing.
If anyone wishes to contest their Assessment, they must call the Assessor’s Office ahead of time and make an appointment between 4pm-8pm for that date. The Assessor will also require that you fill out RP-524, prior to grievance day. Forms are located Form RP-524:3/09:Complaint on Real Property Assessment Before the Board of Assessment Review:rp524 (ny.gov)or at the Assessors Office.
Once an appointment is made, each taxpayer will be able to speak and state their case to the BAR for a period of 10 minutes.
